Honorees were nominated by their peers and judged on criteria that included job commitment, industry involvement and contribution, achievement in his or her position and innovation in his or her field.
Sherry Little was selected for the Top 40 Under 40 list
Sherry Little served for eight years as a senior professional staff member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, she oversaw the implementation of TEA-21. And, as the chairman’s primary advisor on public transportation, she authored the Senate’s version of SAFETEA-LU.
During the Bush Administration, Little served as the deputy administrator, then acting administrator of the Federal Transit Administration from February 2007 until January 2009. Little led a staff of more than 500 in Washington, D.C., and 10 regional offices around the United States and managed a budget of approximately $10 billion. more >> |

Bad news recently came to the Ravitch Commission and those who favor its recent funding proposals for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The U.S. House Appropriations Committee just whittled down President Barack Obama’s transportation stimulus package to pave the way for more tax cuts... “I hope the administration will reconsider it,” said Mysore Nagaraja, the former head of the MTA’s construction arm. If not, he warns, “The situation will be going back to the 1970s, which I don’t think anybody wants to see.” He believes that, without more funds, New Yorkers will see the return of widespread layoffs and service delays. more >> |
