Spartan Solutions, LLC, an infrastructure development and management firm, congratulates James Simpson, Spartan Solutions’ former chairman and co-founder, on his recent confirmation by the New Jersey Senate as Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is responsible for maintaining and operating the State's highway and public road system, planning and developing transportation policy and assisting with rail, freight and intermodal transportation issues.

Mr. Simpson served as Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration from August 2006 to November 2008 and he is the former CEO of Victory Worldwide Transportation, an international commercial transportation company. He was appointed by former New York Governor George Pataki to serve as Commissioner of the New York State Metropolitan Transportation Authority from 1995-2005. He is also a former chairman of the St. Lawrence Seaway Advisory Board.
